About

Who We Are

Indivisible Carson City is a group of democracy-loving people from Nevada’s Capital City region who support each other in civic engagement. We take action to support the principles and practices of democratic government at the local, state, and national levels.

We are part of the national Indivisible movement — a grassroots network of thousands of local groups that have come together to resist attacks on our democratic institutions and build a more just society.

What We Do

  • Attend and organize town halls, public meetings, and community forums
  • Register voters and help neighbors make their voices heard at the ballot box
  • Advocate for policies that support working families, protect civil rights, and strengthen our community
  • Connect with local, state, and federal representatives to hold them accountable
  • Inform the public of the truth regarding the actions of the Trump regime and their harmful impact on America and the world

Have a special area of interest? INVCC has ten teams working together to defend democracy. Contact indivisiblecarsoncity@gmail.com to register as a team member and request to join a team with information in the subject line.

Communications: Coordinates with other INVCC teams and partners on writing and distributing all internal and external communications, including newsletters, social media, fliers, and press releases.

Community Defense: Focus on defending democracy and the rule of law for all in America. Volunteers are needed in four areas: 1) Answer a community defense hotline established in coordination with the Northern Nevada Community Defense Coalition; 2) Join a Neighborhood ICE Watch local effort; 3) Participate in nonviolent Constitutional response teams to observe and document ICE actions; and 4) Assemble whistle packets that enable communities to respond to potential ICE actions in our neighborhoods. ALL volunteers will be trained for this work and are required to view or attend the training courses.

Event Security: Help staff public events and rallies as a safety marshal. Safety, Security and De-escalation training provided.

Local and State Government Advocacy, Boards & Commissions: Attend city and state hearings and participate locally in public meetings. Learn about what is happening in our community and state and stand up for democracy.

Membership Engagement and Education: Help assist with membership meetings, develop and present membership education and social activities.

Partnerships: Help identify and contact partner organizations and businesses to build a progressive resource network. Work on our directory or call and connect people, organizations, and work groups.

Primary: Develop INVCC Primary Program for the 2026 Midterms, write candidate questionnaires, identify education and outreach activities, coordinate actions to encourage strong voter participation in the 2026 midterm elections.

Rallies: Organize and coordinate rallies together with Admin, Security and Communications Teams. Draft petitions to representatives. Assist with tabling and sign-ups, talk about organization mission and needs. We need 6-10 people to assist this team with our bi-weekly rallies.

Recruitment: Encourage and attract new members, communicate with Membership Engagement Team to mobilize and activate volunteers. Need 6-10 volunteers to help; everyone welcome, Latino, bilingual and tribal members especially needed.

Voter Registration: Develop voter registration drives to ensure strong voter participation in the 2026 midterm elections. We need lots of help to get this team up and rolling. At least 10-15 volunteers are needed to help at registration events. The primary is in early June. The time to help is now!
